
Our Team
Nicholas Zammit MAPS is a Clinical Psychologist and the Director of Hive Psychology. He has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults within public and private mental health settings. Nick's roles have included both senior and strategic positions.

Nick approaches his clinical work utilising a variety of therapeutic modalities, frameworks, and techniques. These include EMDR Therapy, attachment theory, Ego State Therapy, Mentalization Based Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and The Theory of Trauma-related Structural Dissociation of the Personality.

Nick knows that our first defence as humans is our connection and safety in relationships with others. Due to this, Nick aims to provide a safe and comfortable space through a kind and non-judgemental approach to therapy. It is within this dynamic that change within therapy is fostered.

Nick has a special interest in working with individuals who are survivors of complex trauma. This includes individuals struggling with dissociative survival responses.

Nick is currently completing a PhD on developing a questionnaire relating to the maladaptive activation of human innate defensive states, furthering his knowledge on responses to trauma.

In his spare time, Nick enjoys spending time with his young family, and taking his dogs for a walk on the beach. ​​
Professional Memberships, Affiliations, and Training
Nick is a fully registered psychologist with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). He is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Nick is an accredited EMDR Therapy Practitioner with the EMDR Association of Australia.
​
Nick also has further training in Ego State Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis, including a Postgraduate Certificate in Ego State Therapy, and a Postgraduate in Clinical Hypnosis and Strategic Psychotherapy, both obtained through the Australian Institute of Clinical Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (AICHP).
